BrightEdge vs Conductor Comparison

Which is better BrightEdge or Conductor Searchlight? Both BrightEdge and Conductor score well for quality and performance. However, Conductor scores better when it comes to user satisfaction.

In this post we look at BrightEdge vs. Conductor and the differentiating factors MarketMuse offers. Search engine rankings figure prominently in the world content marketing, but success requires more than having the best SEO dashboard.

BrightEdge

BrightEdge well known among Enterprise search engine optimization platforms. Their focus is squarely in the Enterprise realm with prices to match. Pricing is available on a quote basis, and you can expect to pay a six-digit figure for a yearly subscription.

According to their website, “BrightEdge SEO platform reveals the intent behind search queries, exposes competitors for each content topic, prioritizes efforts by forecasting business impact, guides content creation and optimization, and monitors content performance at any granularity.”

Like other Enterprise SEO dashboards, BrightEdge tracks pages and keywords for monitoring your success in organic search.

BrightEdge offers an automated site audit platform called ContentIQ, plus DataCube, a dataset of over 3 billion keywords and DataMind, an AI deep learning platform.

BrightEdge Limitations

BrightEdge provides marketers with lots of data but doesn’t employ any AI components in its core offering. The main platform is completely set on top of their DataCube. There is no underlying semantic similarity technology being used.

Content recommendations are merely basic on-page optimization suggestions. These are created based on comparing page components like metas, H tags and body content to the top 10 results and recommending keywords in those sections.

The MarketMuse Advantage

MarketMuse offers AI-driven content plans, content briefs, and a suite of applications purpose-built for content strategists.

Conductor

Those who obsess over the source of their organic traffic will be please to know that Conductor is good at rank tracking. Their rank tracker monitors the performance of content pages and keywords on your site, tracks keyword rankings, and compares page and keyword performance vs. competitors. Position monitoring with Conductor is easy as it notifies you when your site or your competitors’ rankings change.

Conductor Limitations

Conductor’s competitor analysis does not measure the quality of content with a content score and doesn’t show prioritized next steps.

They do not have content briefs. A recommendation from Conductor would be limited to identifying a keyword or a page but would not get into detail on what to do next.

Conductor does not provide any solutions that aid writers and content strategists on topics, comprehensiveness, or user-intent profile driven keywords that relate to the topics.

The MarketMuse Advantage

Conductor’s keyword-based architecture is a compliment for MarketMuse’s relevance-based recommendations. Conductor users frequently look to MarketMuse to solve both page and site-level challenges that require more detail than is possible from data aggregation of keyword rankings and analytics feeds.

Conductor’s prioritization information is aggregated from third party sources and is not customized for a client.  MarketMuse customizes content priorities based on the client and competitor’s unique content inventory characteristics for the breadth of coverage, depth, quality and other factors.

Summary

While an SEO dashboard can help with backlink analysis, backlink tracking and monitoring your position in the SERP, digital marketing requires much more to succeed in organic search. Keywords have lost their power and we now live in a semantic search engine world.
